George Bernard Shaw once wrote "There are two tragedies in life. One is to lose your heart's desire. The other is to gain it."

Clearly, Shaw had his heart broken once or twice.

As far as I'm concerned, Shaw was a punk. Cause you know what? Tragedies happen. What are you gonna do, give up? Quit? No. I realize now that when your heart breaks, you got to fight like hell to make sure your still alive. Because you are. And that pain you feel? That's life. The confusion and fear? That's there to remind you, that somewhere out there is something better, and that something is worth fighting for.

This year, I got everything I wanted and everything I wished for. But in a way, I lost even more.

Shaw was right. As we strain to grasp the things we desire, the things we think will make our lives better: money, popularity, fame... we ignore what truly matters, the simple things, like friendship, family, love. The things we probably already had.

Yes, losing your heart's desire is tragic. But gaining your heart's desire? That's all you can hope for. This year I wished for love... to immerse myself in someone else and to wake a heart long afraid to feel. My wish was granted. And if having that is tragic, then give me tragedy. Because I wouldn't give it back for the world.

And Hansel said to Gretel “Let us drop these bread crumbs, so that together we find our way home, because losing our way would be the most cruel of things." This year I lost my way.
And losing your way on a journey is unfortunate. But losing your reason for the journey... is a fate more cruel.

The journey lasted eight months. Sometimes I traveled alone. Sometimes there were others who took the wheel, and took my heart. But when the destination was reached, it wasn't me who'd arrived. It wasn't me at all.

And once you lose yourself, you have two choices. Find the person you used to be, or lose that person completely.

Because sometimes, you have to step outside of the person you've been, and remember the person you were meant to be. The person you wanted to be. The person you are.

Quoted from One tree hill’s The Tide That Left and Never Came Back

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

last night, went to midnight mass at St Annes with my family & cousins family.

during mass, my father was like irritating me. but in a funny way.
cause my mother wore a cheongsam like dress and dont know why but she tied her shawl around her waist. she didnt want to drap it over her shoulders YET.
so i told my dad that my mum look like she wanna do dikir barat.
then my dad kept singing CHAN MALI CHAN.
ummm, thats not even a dikir barat tune. haha.
but my cousin charlene could imitate a dikir barat performance fairly well. haha.

later, we proceeded to my cousin charlene's house.
ate food from turkey to pies to some asam chicken thing.
watched ABIT of john tucker must die at 3AM!
i reached home like at 4plus AM.
SLEPT AT 5 and woke up at 10AM. ^&*%#$(!

Opened more presents back at home before i slept.

vintage earings from my brother. [i noticed he & his gf love to get me stuff from FuncDeko]
Creative PURPLE mp3 speakers from parents

hello Singapura ! :)

well, my trip to Malaysia truly asia wasnt exactly damn exciting. its not like i am going to some country i never been before.
anyway, went for a week.
Malacca-Genting(4 days)-Malacca. went by my dads car.

already, on the first day, we were lost... in singapore.
dad could not even find the Tuas 2nd link. ended up at the factories n stuff. haha.
left home like at 12pm and only reached TUAS at 2pm.
i even passed by an-nur's house.
thats how lost we were IN SINGAPORE.

anyway, reached malaysia checkpoint thingy n the guy was like some pervy. was winking at ruth & I and stuff. eew. he was the first out of 2388 pervs who did some cheeky shit at us in msia.
and my dad kept making fun of ppl n objects.
as we were in the car, the lady at the Tol could not hear us so before he winded down the window to pay the tol money he was like shouting "MAKCIK OH MAKCIK SELAMAT DATANG KE MALAYSIA MAN!"

and somehow after that, he kept talking in malay.

i will never forget-

99 second TRAFFIC LIGHT.

the cold showers in malacca

the uncle who kept comparing malaysia and singapore. eg. when i wanted to use the toilet in a relative house, he said "careful ya the toilet flush system not like singapore." and "singapore sugi cake nicer than malaysia rite. you all only eat singapore cakes" wtf.

then at the relatives house, there was a mat boy who asked ruth & I to dance. WTF. i did my typical ROLL THE EYES thing n walked away.

the birthday party of the 16 year old eurasian boy who had a rather perverted shirt that said "please tell your boobs to quit staring at my eyes"

i saw 3 malaysians with braces

the malaysian/austrailian PR bday boy had a bloody IPOD. a malaysian with an IPOD! so jealous.

at genting i froze my ass off.

at malacca, i saw the flood.

now i cant even stand to look at myself in the mirror. eek.

picsssss

ruth n i shared this room at my godma house

see, the mist was verrrryyy badd! til only 3 rides were open in the outdoor theme park. and indoor theme park was like for babies. so boring. those tea cup and ferris wheel rides.

only had 1 indoor roller coster which ruth & i sat twice. the line was damn long lahh! and i saw Ms Sabrina get off the ride. lol.

look at the crowd! bloody hell. wait for half an hour to 40 minutes and the roller coster was only a min and a half!

now look at the floooooodddd. lucky it wasnt as bad as johor.

now look at the birds! lol

check out the christmas light ups at the houses at the portugese settlement (KAMPUNG PORTUGIS). they really very ON!

this one of my favourite photos. the house looks haunted n abandoned rite?
now time to check my 34 unread emails. :(

tmr is CHRISTMAS EVE! then CHRISTMAS!

so i been heading to town, cityhall, ikea tampines and even compass point to buy gifts and clothes.

been purchasing more gifts than clothes so far.
finally bought stuff for all my friends ! & siblings and bro gf !
bought for friends like my sjc friends and 2 of my poly friends (if they come..and since they haven canceled out yet).
so left with my parents and bf !

i think the presents this year is better as i really PLANNED what to buy for them according to their tastes.
I THINK its their taste at least.

so i plan to go shopping again soon but plans lately have been so damn unpredictable and its bumming me out that i have like 3 more days left in singapore to pick my stuff out(i'm fussy).
minus sat ok. i confirm need to pack.

this year, it seems like have lesser houses to visit for christmas.
24th jess party
25th at midnight after church, cousin charlenes house
25th afternoon grandmothers house.
then it stops there.
WTH
last time it was like 25- 1 JAN be like visiting a TWO - THREE HOUSES PER DAY.
Then i was a happy kid with 5 more barbie dolls and have more kitchen/bedroom/toilet/gym/supermarket/convertable car sets for my collection.

now what have i been receiving from my relatives since i turned 13 til like last year?
ultra tight CARTOON shirts that are in gaudy colours. n my head can barely fit thru.
money (okay lahhh (: )
ornamental things that i have no idea whats it for.
n many more things that i dont use.

n they still spell our names WRONGLY on the presents.

our names are suddenly spelt like

KASSANDRA
KELVIN
JACQUELINE

its CASANDRA, KEVIN, JACLYN!

okay, thought that counts.
n these are what makes christmas funny.
(:

i have a feeling, new year's eve will suck too.
2007..
like whatever.

Tuesday, December 05, 2006

so yesterday was a funny day in the beginning.

Met lian/yew tee/yellow at city hall at 1pm so we could go for robinsons job interview at 2pm at raffles.
we didnt even complete the application form as we realized that cashier training days was during the days we werent free (i'm going to be in malaysia n she be having her final exam.)
other than that, i doubt i would have taken it as it means i would have to sacrifice my christmas! :(

next, we went off to marina square to eat lunch.
then, i bought a vintage brown dress!
even though its not really formal for midnight mass, but what the heck, i want to wear smt thats not toooooooo over the top like as though i going to Fullerton to celebrate the birth of christ.
i thought it seemed dull BUTTT with the cream coloured belt-bow, it made the dress much much brighter. hehhh.

n helllooooooooo, OCBC card cannot draw out from a DBS atm machine ! the salesman aka designer of the dresses in the shop said can. wtf.
anyway, i drew out from my own atm card.

so my dress is probably the only one in singapore! as he only designs one of each kind of dresses.
:)
and i think my dress is the nicest dress out of the other rather peculiar unique style the designer had. lol.
CHEY!
his dresses well were.... unique? vintage? some were like made for ballroom dancing or smt? as the bottom was really flare. REALLY REALLY flared out. then some were rather frilly. eek. u really have to spot well if ur taste of outfits is in that shop. hahah.

ohhhhhhhhhhhh then i was heading back when i stopped over at Surfergirl at city link.
saw stacy..! who used to be from HS too.
then, i was contemplating between Volcom's black jeans n i think it was Ripcurl black jeans.
In the end i chose the more expensive straight cut volcom one. lol.
cause i like the purple thread outline on some parts of the jeans. and also the pocket design. :) :) :)
i bought the Xs. i hope it really will stretch abit. hahha.
guess how much it is?
$107.
well, it WAS more pricey but stacy gave staff discount.
hehhhh hehhhhh :))

actually i was kinda shocked when i stepped into surfergirl as the last time i shopped at these kind of shops were like sec 4 or 5 or smt? but i tried topshop, mango, esprit bla bla bla but the black jeans were like baggy !

a lame pic of me taken by bee lian. its me wearing a flasher-winter-brrr-jacket.

i was so happy with the stuff i bought, i could have skipped home lalalllalalalalalalal

more shopping to come!

ohhh, got new fridge today.
n my mum is finally going to change to digital cable.
i watched a FOX tv show called Vanished.
its a police like soap drama show. hahaha.
alright i guess? but has many links n twists each episode.
have another show called Ugly Betty which stars caleb from OC. its about some ugly girl name betty i think. haven watched it yet.

to end of, i shall end of with a quote which i stumbled upon.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

-Eleanor Roosevelt
